Deed Preparation

When buying a house, there’s a lot of paperwork your real estate agent and lawyer will handle. It may seem confusing if you’re not familiar with the process, but rest assured that the professionals managing your property transfer documents are there to protect your best interests.

Deed preparation is one such task best left to an experienced attorney. Before the closing date, we’ll prepare the deed for the property and ensure the transfer information is correct and register the property to the appropriate owner. We’ll also check the description of the property against the deed to make sure they match. If they don’t, your lawyer and real estate agent will need to investigate why. If the description and the deed match, we’ll then transfer the property into your name, and the deed becomes part of the official record.

This process is essential to the purchase because of the laws governing property transfers. Real estate sales are not handled in the same way as other possessions and require additional steps to protect the legal standing of both the buyer and seller. When you trust your real estate lawyer to administer your deed transfer, you can feel confident in the process.

*Please keep in mind that we do not handle commercial law and arbitration.
